Planície Verde, Sociedade Agrícola Lda. Is a company specialized in the production of lettuce, melon, melon and watermelon in which it is recognized nationally and internationally.
Having started his activity as a Young Agricultural Entrepreneur in 1989 with a small farm dedicated to various horticultural crops produced in 1100 m2 of greenhouses, Mr. Luís Manuel Salmim Correia, forced by the constant evolution and innovation required by the markets, adopted in 2004 the designation of Planície Verde for a company that is currently producing lettuce, melon and watermelon on about 250 hectares in total, distributed in various production regions between the Alentejo, Algarve and Ribatejo.
In order to be at the forefront of an increasingly competitive market, a number of investments have been made over the last few years, in an automation project and robotization of the company's production as well as an increase in storage capacity, and in the placement of a system climate control of the entire unit, from cold rooms to the reception / production and dispatch warehouses, never breaking the cold chain, which is essential for preserving the quality of the fruit.
